NEV stands for New Energy Vehicles refer to vehicles that are powered by Electric energy sources. NEVs are also in category of green energy technology.
Types of New Energy Vehicles:
- Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs):
- Fully electric vehicles which runs on rechargeable batteries.
- In Pakistan BYD, GuGo and other companies offering Electric vehicles.
- Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs):
- PHEV combines engine with a battery that can be recharged by plugging into an external power source.
- In Pakistan MG HS PHEV is example of PHEV car.
- Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs):
- Use both an engine and an electric motor, but the battery is charged through regenerative braking and the engine, not by plugging in.
- Toyota Corolla Cross, Haval Jolion are examples of HEVs cars in Pakistan.
